What is Barcamp Ahmedabad?
It's un conference.Its an event for you to discover new ideas and connect with people who are part of the technology ecosystem in Ahmedabad.
How is the event structured?
The event revolves around a collection of Topics. A presenter creates an topic page on the website to share relevant content. Participants can discuss the topic on this page prior to the event. During the event, a half hour Session will be devoted to discussing this topic.
Any pointers on etiquette for the event?
During the event, you will be representing yourself, not your company – you are there to share and not to sell. Further, in all discussions, we strongly urge you to be polite and brief when you speak – please do not add noise to the signal.
What is the schedule for the event?
The event will be held over 1 days (26th February). Registration will start at 8am. There will be a kickoff session at 9:30am. The sessions begin at 10:00am. There will 3 general track for the entire day of the event in three different rooms.
What is the format for a session?
Technically, you have only 20 minutes, as we need 5 minutes for people to exit and enter. Keep your presentations short - say 10 or 15 minutes and spend more time on discussions, Q&A. If you are running a longer session (or a hack session) book two simultaneous slots.
How do I register to attend the event ?
At Barcamp Ahmedabad, you either present a session or you participate in one. First of all you need to register on web site.
Registrations at the venue will start at 8am. Please be at the venue as early as possible since the venue may able to accommodate limited number of participants.
I want to register a new session. How do I go about it ?
Congratulations! Submit your session to “Propose a Session” page. Make sure that you explain your topic well so that other participants understand what they can expect from your session. Also mention any prerequisites in the topic like prior experience in the topic.
Who all are "attending” a session?
If you are interested in any session, please vote it by clicking on the “Vote”. It helps the session speaker to know, that many people are interested in it.
If you need to find out attendees, you can click on Attendees link http://www.barcampahmedabad.com/attendees. There is also a facebook event which lists attendees who have signed up for Barcamp Ahmedabad 4 event.
What are the tags I need to be used for event content?
Please use bca4 tag, for all media on other sites like flickr, youtube, slideshare. When you publish photos/tweets/blogpost about one particular session, please tag it with BCA4-SXXX. We will attach the media here in the session’s page automatically
How can I track the sessions that have been registered (incl comments) ?
You can subscribe to the RSS feed of the site to get a feed of all the sessions as they are registered. You can also subscribe to a individual topic to track the comments for that topic.
